We've already returned from our 6 week desert southwest tour, so I'm way behind on the personal blogs, but here goes with a recap of a week in Sedona, Arizona.
We've never been to Sedona and that is unfortunate ... it's an awesome place. Some have described it as a spiritual place and hard to argue with that.
The drive in through 9 roundabouts was a spectacular introduction to the area. The red rock formations were amazing. We had the hilltop site at Rancho Sedona RV which was a nice secluded spot above the main campground. The town itself seemed broken up into thirds and we had easy walking access to the Old Town area.
Activities included eating (Elote, Indian Gardens, Mariposa, Creekside were the top ones), grilling out with honey glazed salmon which was awesome, jeep tour with the famous Pink Jeep guys on the Broken Arrow trail, tennis with Altitudes Tennis (awesome), sunset viewing from the airport overlook, star gazing at a secluded pullout, strolling through the art galleries, Chapel of the Holy Cross and just generally chilling out. We did a little hiking, but that is one thing we could do A LOT more of here.
It was fantastic and already thinking about a longer trip here.
